Self Help Blog Series – You Matter: Personal Development Tips And Tricks

Self Help Blog Series — Welcome to my new blog series on Self Help.  For the month of November, my blog posts will center around this most important topic.  Before I get into today’s post, I want to share with you some helpful stats about the personal development industry (Stat Source: “9 Personal Development Industry Statistics.” Brandon[Gaille] Marketing Expert & Blogmaster, 23 May 2017, brandongaille.com.)

  1.  Up to $500 million is spent on personal development products every year.
  2.  The net worth of this industry is estimated to be almost $11 billion.
  3.  Women utilize the personal development industry much more than men do.
  4.  Over $1 billion in revenues is generated by this industry every year.
  5.  The primary demographic of the personal development industry are middle-aged women who have large amounts of discretionary spending money.

Starting to develop yourself personally can be challenging at times.  There are many layers to self development.  You may want to focus on healthier eating habits, or work on your people and communication skills.  A number of personal development methods exist, it’s really up to you to choose which way to go approach it.  Identifying specific things that you want to improve about yourself and making progress on them will increase your self confidence, especially when others notice the changes.self help

Try surrounding yourself with people of a similar mindset (people who think like you).  This small change will motivate you to think bigger and aim higher toward attaining your goals and dreams. Your way of thinking will change by simply upgrading the people who surround you.  Their positive influence will infuse you with the positivity you need to reach your life goals and purpose.

Make a Decision

Shying away from a major decision could cheat you of an opportunity to become a better version of yourself.  Even if you don’t have all the information you need, don’t be afraid to make decisions.  Successful decisions evolve into good instincts.  But even if your decision doesn’t pan out, it can still be viewed as a valuable life lesson.  When you learn from your mistakes, you are less likely to repeat them.

Record your Thoughts and Ideas

With today’s technology, your options for making a record of your thoughts and ideas can be successfully handled by that gadget you carry around every waking hour of the day — your Smartphone.  There are hundreds of apps available for download that enable you to voice record, take notes, or video record, your thoughts and ideas.  Record as much as you can when your ideas hit so that you can revisit them later at a more convenient time.

Put your core beliefs into practice. Everyone has certain beliefs that reinforce their sense of self at the core. When your core beliefs are well-founded, your self esteem improves.

Self Help Tips

Your unique and individual values help to mold a productive personal development plan.  It makes no sense to concentrate on things that are at odds with what you value.  Work to improve areas that coincide with your values. This will help you to make significant changes to your life, both at home and at work.

Exercise is for everybody.  It is not reserved only for those who wish to slim down.  There are many other benefits from regular exercise. Not only does it keep your body in good shape, but it also causes your body to release chemicals that will increase your happiness levels.

Come up with a little pep talk for yourself.  Write down all of your good qualities.  You can take this with you wherever you go, and review it when you need motivation or inspiration.  Another great idea is to recite the list while filming yourself, so that you can view the footage regularly.

There are many ways to improve oneself, this is just the beginning.  The truth is, it is never too early or late to start improving yourself for the better.  Self development not only helps – it forces those around you to either level up or move.
