In today’s business marketplace nothing captures the attention of your targeted audience like a great story. I recently attended a sales / marketing gathering where the presenter launched a presentation loaded with nothing but photos, 75 to be exact. I immediately thought to myself, this is going to be a long evening of storytelling.
However to my surprise, the evening turned out to be a wonderful presentation of storytelling in a way that captivated everyone in the room. Stories of real people’s challenges, triumphs, and successes. As the presenter moved through each slide and told the story behind each photo, I couldn’t help but to think: what story do my photos tell about me?
Fast-forward to tonight. I was on the web surfing for ideas about a project I’m working on and I came across this video called The Power of Visual Storytelling with Pam Grossman of Getty Images.
In the video she talks about the significance of choosing the right photo/imagery to tell your story, and, how your photos should establish an emotional connection with your audience.
From a business / career perspective, she offer’s some helpful tips on storytelling, if you are looking for ways to connect with your audience. Feel free to check out the video:
